Technical Specifications
What is a Auto Duct Line 3 AML-3?
An auto duct line is a fully automated production line that manufactures rectangular HVAC ducts from raw metal coil to finished ductwork in a single continuous process. The line integrates decoiling, leveling, beading, notching, punching, folding, and seam closing operations, reducing labor requirements by 70% compared to manual fabrication. Auto duct lines are categorized by automation level: Line 2 (basic), Line 3 (mid), Line 4/5 (fully automatic with auto stacking).
Key Features
- Coil car with 2 stations
- Leveling and grooving integrated
- Hydraulic notching and shearing
- Mitsubishi PLC control
- Affordable automation entry point
- Upgradeable to Line 4 or 5

How Much Does a Auto Duct Line 3 AML-3 Cost?
Auto duct lines range from $25,000 to $120,000 USD. Line 3 (semi-automatic, 2 workers) costs $25,000-$40,000. Line 5 (fully automatic, 1 operator) ranges from $55,000-$85,000. U-shape and super lines with auto stacking can reach $90,000-$120,000. Lines typically process 0.5-1.2mm galvanized steel at 12-18 meters per minute, producing 800-1500 square meters of duct per 8-hour shift.
Auto Duct Line 3 AML-3 — Key Specifications at a Glance
This auto duct line transformed our entire production floor. What used to take 5 workers an entire shift now runs with 2 operators and finishes by lunchtime. The coil feeding, leveling, beading, notching, and folding all happen automatically — we just load the coil and set the dimensions on the touch screen.
The precision of this auto line is incredible. Every duct section comes out exactly to spec — no more trimming or rework. Our assembly time on site dropped by 30% because everything fits perfectly the first time. The Preda team trained our operators remotely and we were running production on day two.
Still Losing Money to Manual Rectangular Duct Production?
Every HVAC duct shop faces the same bottleneck: handling sheets between multiple machines. When your team spends hours on manual measuring, cutting, and folding, your production capacity drops, labor costs rise, and deadlines slip. The Auto Duct Line 3 AML-3 is engineered to eliminate these inefficiencies — automating auto duct line 3 while delivering consistent, factory-grade quality.
In this guide, we break down exactly how this machine transforms your AML-3 mid-range automation workflow, what specifications matter for your operation, and how to calculate your return on investment. Whether you run a 3-person job shop or a 50-employee production facility, understanding these details directly impacts your bottom line.
How It Transforms Your Production Line
The Auto Duct Line 3 AML-3 operates on a proven principle: auto duct line 3 should be a continuous, automated process — not a series of manual interventions. Here is the step-by-step workflow that makes this possible:
Coil Loading & Uncoiling
Steel coil is loaded onto the hydraulic decoiler, which automatically feeds material into the line under controlled tension — eliminating the need for manual sheet handling.
Leveling & Beading
The strip passes through precision leveling rollers to remove coil curvature, then through beading stations that press 5-7 reinforcement ribs into the panel for structural rigidity.
Notching & Punching
Hydraulic notching punches cut corner notches and punch holes for TDF flange corners, all positioned by CNC with ±0.3mm accuracy.
Shearing to Length
A hydraulic shear cuts the panel to exact programmed length based on the duct dimensions entered in the PLC.
Folding & Seam Closing
The panel is automatically folded into L-shape, U-shape, or complete rectangular form, then the Pittsburgh lock seam is closed to create a rigid, airtight duct section.
