How to Choose

  1. What are you cutting? Straight cut-to-length → Shear. Complex shapes/holes → Plasma or Laser
  2. Material type? All metals including non-conductive → Laser. Conductive metals only → Plasma or Shear
  3. Edge quality requirement? Standard duct → Shear or Plasma. Precision/stainless → Laser
  4. Budget? Shear is lowest cost, Plasma is mid-range, Laser is premium — but each has different capabilities
